Is Your Home A Lighthouse For Pests?

Is your home a lighthouse for pests?

Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we’ve no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! 1

While we do not often see snow, North Texas still experiences the frigid temperatures of winter. Our home is one of our favorite places to find warmth and comfort in this season. Similar to humans, bugs seek protection from the elements. Although many of them find their winter homes underground or inside logs and trees, others are attracted to the light and warmth of your dwelling. It is now, in the fall, that our pest control service takes action against common home pests. Of the many invaders, here are our top three.

pests

Ants

Ants are cold-blooded, so they seek a habitat with a constant temperature. Most of the time, they find this by burrowing deep into the ground. Other times, they find it in the walls of our homes. Because your home is a great resource for food, insect control is necessary in and around it.

Cricket Insect

Crickets

Crickets, unlike ants, don’t burrow into the ground; they seek for shelter. The light from your home acts as a lighthouse, attracting them to a safe place from the coming storm. Often, they will just take up residence in your walls. Those that make it even further into your home will dine on fabric items and cardboard. Look at adding a chemical barrier to your home pest control plan.

pests

Rats And Mice

Among all of the home invaders, these are the worst. They irk people the most and cause the most damage and issues for homeowners. They find their shelter in garages, attics, and even car engines. When spring arrives, they leave behind a wake of droppings, holes, and chewed up wiring. Even more so, the diseases they carry can harm humans. By sealing holes and utilizing bait traps, rodent control can be simple.

With all of these pests trying to make your home their home, now is the best time to treat your property proactively. Don’t have pests in your home for the holidays. Give our Chorbie experts a call today for further help and guidance!
