Forney, Texas located in Kaufman County is where many people call home. This city was nicknamed by Texas Legislature as the “Antique Capital of Texas”, and it really is a gem. It is inside of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and has a constantly growing population. After you read a little more about the place it’ll be easy to see why folks are moving in. To start, the city is sitting a population right now of around 27,500 people. Forney’s total size in square miles also comes out to around almost 15 miles making it a decent size city here. Hardly any of Forney’s landmass is covered by water either. However, it is found about four miles southeast of Lake Ray Hubbard which was, at one point, known as Forney Lake. But this lake was never actually in the city, it’s found inside of Dallas, Texas. Finding a bite to eat here is always exciting because of the great restaurants that have been around, and the new ones that are popping up. Shopping is a unique experience here too with some older classic shops and a mix of everything else. Additionally, if you want to find some entertainment, just like almost every other city in the DFW you don’t have to go too far! To add on, there is a highway that goes through Forney and leads to Terrell, Texas, and to the center of Dallas, Texas. This allows for getting around easily when you need to get somewhere. If you have time, stop by Forney and see what this beautiful city has to offer, you won’t regret it!
